Leaving My Abusive Husband was the Hardest Thing I’ve Ever Done

“Why does she stay with him?” This is my answer.

I know all the statistics on domestic violence. I know that one out of every three women experiences physical violence at the hands of her intimate partner and that the same is true for one out of every four men. I know who to call and how to call for help when someone needs assistance leaving their abusive spouse. I’ve heard it asked a thousand times, “Why does she stay with him?” I also know the answer to that question, at least for me.
